Help for Haiti from San Antonio

11/12/2010

It was six months ago that a massive earthquake did widespread damage across Haiti. The January quake killed more than 230-thousand people and injured tens of thousands more. About 1.3-Million people were displaced by the quake and many of them are still living in tent cities.

More than 100 children living in an orphanage near Port-au-Prince are getting help from people living right here in San Antonio. Every two weeks, nurses make the trip to help. News 4 WOAI talked to one nurse who is doing even more. Shannon Ralston is making the children a part of her life.

Ralston runs Angel Staffing, a medical staffing business in Stone Oak. Her charitable foundation pays for everything at Haiti's Children Rescue Mission and she is just back from her fourth trip to the Haiti since the earthquake.
